Building the dystopian universe of Toxic Skies was no small feat. To capture the gritty environment, our producers started by thrifting and going to yard sales to gather raw materials that would turn into props and set decor, on a small donation-based budget.

Our social media presence helped boost funding efforts, allowing us to purchase wardrobe pieces for our actors. As we networked with potential cast and crew, we made connections that led us to essential supplies, camera equipment, lighting, and even filming locations.

Since the majority of filming took place outdoors, we were especially grateful for the cooperation we received at Phillips' Island, in Groveland, FL where we spent 4 out of 7 filming days. All proceeds went toward food and necessities for our hardworking, unpaid crew, of mostly Florida students.
